About Us

Optometrists association of Kenya is a registered eye health society as per the society health act guidelines of 2011 CAP 108..(our registration number)…The OAK was registered in 2011 and has a membership of 440+ with key objectives: legislations, labor interests, and optometrists welfare.

Our Objectives

  1. To devote for the rights, welfare, security and protection of its members.
  2. To provide and support of research in Optometry and Vision Sciences related disciplines.
  3. To provide an avenue for all optometrists in Kenya and allied health workers in optometry to share and exchange ideas.
  4. To strive to develop and extend high-level optometric care and make it accessible to the people of Kenya.
  5. To strive to uplift the academic level and skills of eye care practitioners.
  6. To achieve the substantial reduction in prevalence of eye diseases and avoidable blindness through community eye care education and adoption of eye camps approach.
