Optometrists association of Kenya is a registered eye health society as per the society health act guidelines of 2011 CAP 108..(our registration number)…The OAK was registered in 2011 and has a membership of 440+ with key objectives: legislations, labor interests, and optometrists welfare.
Our Objectives
- To devote for the rights, welfare, security and protection of its members.
- To provide and support of research in Optometry and Vision Sciences related disciplines.
- To provide an avenue for all optometrists in Kenya and allied health workers in optometry to share and exchange ideas.
- To strive to develop and extend high-level optometric care and make it accessible to the people of Kenya.
- To strive to uplift the academic level and skills of eye care practitioners.
- To achieve the substantial reduction in prevalence of eye diseases and avoidable blindness through community eye care education and adoption of eye camps approach.
