About us

The Optometrists Association Of Kenya was founded and registered in 2009 reg no; 542389. 

 The association started with the membership of 9 members but has since grown to a membership of 250 optometrists which represents nearly 60% of the optometrist across the country.

The key role of the association is to advance the interests of optometrists as professional, optometry as the profession. In addition, the association in collaboration with her partner’s is involved in advocacy of eye care and general health through our programs both offline and online.

The association is an affiliate member of the Africa Council Of Optometry  ( AFCO) and the World Council of Optometry (WCO).

OAK is a public-focused association that advocates for high quality and affordable eye care services to the Kenyan populace through its members, while also giving them access to valuable information on eye care, vision and health.

OAK also advocates for the optometric profession as well as promoting and protecting its interest by, providing a strong and unified position of support for its welfare.
